As part of my birthday present, I got a new version of Paint Shop Pro.  I have been spending time getting used to the new fun features. In addition, I purchased a new laptop and retired my old one to hubby. Setting up a laptop and creating Christmas tags is a new challenge and I am enjoying it.

Time for Magic

I had my six month check up this week and so far..."knock on wood"...  I am doing alright. However, she did change my meds as Northwest Allied has a new(?) drug policy and two of my needed refill prescriptions fell into the changed guidelines. Ummmm...What? I wonder if this policy is everywhere else in Tucson, because I love my doctor, but don't like being limited to what meds I can take. 

So now I can't get refills on Xanax or Tylenol 3. Hmmmm....have to take Citalopram instead and chug down 4 to 6 Aleve's as well. WTF?

One thing I liked about Xanax was I could take it as needed for anxiety. This new drug Citalopram, has to be taken every day and its classified as an antidepressant. UGH! 

As for Tylenol 3, I only take it if I have extreme pain in my hands, neck and knees which occurs more often during cold days. Usually, I get by on 2 Aleve pills daily to reduce moderate stiffness and pain.  Her solution is to continue taking the Aleve, but at higher doses on severe pain days, 4 to 6 pills as needed. 🙄 So its ok for me to possibly get stomach bleeding problems taking almost triple doses of Aleve, as opposed to just taking one or two Tylenol 3 pills for the pain. What kind of medical plan is that?  

On the bright side, my daughter provided a sample of ...ummm...a very effective cream. I won't say what's in it, but it works really great. So, perhaps I won't need the Tylenol 3 or any narcotic, if it continues to provide much needed relief.

Still, I would like to know if Tucson is on lockdown for Xanax and Tylenol 3 prescriptions or can I hope there are other PCP's out there than can prescribe these drugs?  If I have to change physicians, I will. I have been using these drugs for years...always as needed. Never abused using them because they do have kicker side effects that I don't like to experience. 

Life is frustrating enough with Covid-19 without having to also live with anxiety, stress and arthritic pain. This just sucks big blue balls. 🤬

That is usually the time when we change the clocks back...thank God the witching hour doesn't happen in the state of Arizona!😂

Nine days to Halloween! Weather is cooling down and I hear Mother Nature may be blessing us with a few drops of rain! That is so refreshing to hear after all these days of heat and drought.  Tomorrow  I plan on getting some flowers at Home Depot. Over the weekend I will hopefully be doing some serious gardening. I just hope the heat stays away to give those plants some time to root. 🤞 

Debate night! Wonder what our wackadoodle president is going to do? I know for certain he will be lying...so, won't bother watching. I will watch the summary commentary after its over instead. That man just gets my blood pressure up and he is not worth having a stroke over.  So....enjoy the evening!

Mysterious Night

How many are watching the confirmation hearings on SCOTUS nominee Amy Coney Barrett?  I gave up...no point...she will be confirmed. There is absolutely nothing anyone can do to stop it.  So...I turned it off. No need to get my blood pressure up again. 

On a brighter news note, I am simply amazed that our wackadoodle president actually recovered from COVID-19 in one week!!! He is an absolute medical anomaly!!! Let's call him Superman!!! All joking aside, I am glad he is doing well and hope the virus doesn't come around and smack him in the ass...but this whole fiasco stretches the imagination. Makes me wonder if he really had it...or....hmmm....🤔.

I am so exhausted by the last 4 years that I am growing numb.  By the way I did vote...that's about all anyone can do. 

Spending quite a bit of time working with scrap kits and actually finding a few from last year that I never used. It's like christmas! I should start working on a few christmas theme tags soon. Creating tags is great therapy, almost like coloring with crayons!

Fall Gardening

Normally, around this time of the year, gardening is what I love doing. Unfortunately, I am not physically motivated to get out and play in the dirt this year. It's basically still too damn hot! Hopefully, October will bring cooler air into the desert. I can only pray...I wonder if our dear Lord is tired of hearing me pray?

Heidi will be 24 weeks old today...she has gotten bigger of course, but also her coat is getting shades of brown mixed in with the black. She has stopped being a baby shark and is now a "licker"...licks me everywhere if she has a chance. She is officially housebroke, leash broke and we are working on the jumping every time she see's you. (Excited little bugger!) It's hard to break as I can only advise others what to do when she jumps up on them. I can't make them follow the advice. Oh well, in time she will learn. I cannot say she is a fast learner, she pushes the envelope too much.

About A Girl

 

For some people, time seems to go by quickly. Lately for me, time seems to be dragging. The heat has made living unbearable. My walks have literally stopped because no matter what time I try to move, it's HOT! Temperatures are over 80 degrees when I take the dog for its morning walk. By eight o'clock in the morning its already nearing 100. So now, in addition to being confined by COVID, I am also being kept inside by the Arizona excessive heat.

Some areas have received rain, it just avoids San Manuel. People are cranky, irritable and I don't blame them...quite a few in this town do not have a/c.  I happen to be a lucky one...but still, the walls literally radiate heat so much, it feels like the a/c isn't working. 

Praying and dancing for rain...seems like Mother Nature is ignoring my pleas. Oh wait, she occasionally blows a hot wind to dry the sweat off my brow. Even my dog is panting all the time...she loves to lay in front of the fan with her bully stick.

Watching a hurricane head towards the Texas/Louisiana coast. Another present from 2020...now people have to worry about surviving the winds and possible flooding. If its not one thing, its another. 

Here is to surviving 2020...🍷

Fantastic Tale

A beautiful tube by Goldwasser! Love it! She has some more tubes that I purchased for creating Halloween tags. Hopefully, I will have the muse to create them. 

Still under an excessive heat wave, doubt it will go away soon. Our monsoon season is really a bust this year...figures...another present from 2020. I am so tired of .....basically doing nothing. I have to laugh whenever hubby asks, "so what are your plans for today?" Ummm...maybe weeding the back yard...have no grass because there has been no rain, but weeds keep popping up here and there. At least I take my frustrations out with the hoe! 

Must admit I did feel a rare spark of hope that this nation will be in capable hands next year. It's all I can do..hope! Keep a smile on my face despite the exhaustion I feel.  Oh and I wear a mask basically everywhere I go...got so used to having it on my face that I get strange looks from people while I am wearing it driving. 

I miss going out to eat or having a drink...going to a movie...just basically walking around the mall. Let's face it, I am pretty much depressed...I love my chocolate which I should never eat...can't eat just one! Figure I have gained back the weight I lost...dread stepping on the scale. I walk almost 2 miles every day, but I have been snacking more. Sometimes I just have to have a donut!

Snap It!

 Especially love how sexy this tube is by Barbara Jensen.  This tag was fun to create and gave me much needed space away from puppy for awhile.  

Sometimes Heidi can be too much....feel like I am with her 24/7 and I can't breathe or do anything without almost stepping on her paws or feeling her nips on my heels.  She is very good with me, but is horrid with the rest of the family. Very energetic and at my age, its a bit much to keep correcting her with jumping and nipping, squealing and spinning when she see's hubby, Jackie and Ashley. She is also teething and turned into a land shark. I know she is just happy to see them, but its not a behavior I like in my pups.  Its exhausting trying to teach her its not acceptable and sadly, we still have lots of work to do.

Heidi has been having tummy issues lately with the latest puppy food the vet recommended. Of course that means getting up at all hours of the night to take her out when she has the urge to go.  I supplemented her new diet with pumpkin puree, yogurt, chicken and white rice. It seems to be working. The good news is she is totally potty trained now!  I guess I should be glad for small victories.

With all this heat and no rain (albeit a few sprinkles here and there) everyone is very cranky. At least Heidi has a pool which she loves to jump in and out of...chasing the ball.  She loves playing fetch the ball...getting the ball back from her is a work in progress. 😃

Summer Morning

 

Just love this...very proud of how the whole picture came out.  Amazing how you can create such beautiful pictures with a simple scrap kit and a tube.  

Hope everyone is doing well and keeping safe.  It's been quiet in my house...the dog provides all the excitement and sometimes tries everyone's patience.  She is growing fast, but her mind is still in puppyland. She seems to enjoy taunting my husband...the one with the least amount of patience...lol.  He was always at work when we had all the other puppies in our home, so this is his first time being around 24/7 with an active pup.  He is always swearing Heidi will give him a heart attack...geez.  

Oh well, she will grow up in mind before you know it  I am listening to her snore while I work on another picture.  At this time I also enjoy a glass of wine...cheers! 🍷

Just Junk

Another week has gone by...almost August and we are still keeping safe...staying home. I am so tired of it, but I really don't have much of a choice.  I would really love to go out to dinner without wearing a mask or worrying about being close to any one.  Ugh! When will this nightmare be over?

I took Heidi to the vet on Tuesday...she is growing so fast! This visit was for her last series of shots and a quick exam. She is now up to 29 pounds, but I swear she is heavier.  I can hardly pick her up...gone is the little puppy.  Heidi will be 4 months old on Saturday! I guess I should be happy that time is moving quicker than I feel it. To me...a week feels like a month.

Heidi is napping so its time to work on another picture.  The above one was done several days ago...just love steampunk! I think I am going to start working on some fall tags...Halloween anyone? Let's see what I can come up with this year. 😉

Pink Elegance

Another week has gone by and we made it to the middle of July. The pandemic is getting worse instead of better and I am scared to venture anywhere.  Apparently, COVID is everywhere.  Too scared to even go to a doctor/dentist...that's coming up in August.  

Vet visit next week...its curbside so we don't have much contact...but it is still scary.  Hubby and I have Wednesday dates to Walmart for grocery pick up and then to Burger King take out...too funny! These trips to Tucson are short, but sweet.  I will go by myself next week...I'll be a big girl! LMAO!

Anyway...aside from staying inside, walking in my backyard, playing with the puppy and teaching her how to behave like a lady...very little else.  I haven't been reading much...eyes are too tired at the end of the day, so I am still working on "IT" page by page when possible.  Think I am on page 690 of over 1000 pages...might be finished by Christmas! 

I am in a Barbara Jensen mood, love her beautiful tubes...sexy ladies all of them.  Enjoy!

The Steampunk Era

Crazy heat has us all sheltering in the house. So we spend time in different rooms so we feel that we went somewhere or did something.  I am really and truly tired. I think everybody is at this point. Taking vitamins by the handfuls so I don't get sick. 

The heat has even gotten to the puppy, she's cranky, irritable and tends to the zoomies. I am exhausted with her boundless energy and my depleted one. One day she will settle down...who said raising a puppy was fun?  Her greatest accomplishment is she is finally potty trained...until she see's Ashley then she pee's in a ring of excitement around her. Thank god its been outside and not in the house! 😂

I had some quiet time today to create a tag...enjoy!🍸
