Make A Wish

Another year ends...and we are all probably setting up goals for the new year.  Some of us want to lose weight, get a new job, move into a bigger house or just a simple wish for better health. We always try to reinvent ourselves, entering the new year feeling really good about achieving even a tenth of our goals within the first two weeks. Then sadly, by February those resolutions go out the door with last week's trash.

I am very guilty of setting up myself for failure by creating unrealistic resolutions.  I have always had the will power, the hard edge of determination that is needed.  Some may say it's stubbornness! The problem is I have too many irons in the fire to keep up the energy level to achieve even one goal.

This year I have decided on one small goal for myself. One thing I am sure of, if I want to do something bad enough, I focus all my attention on that one goal and I always get it done. It follows the old saying, "Where there is a will...there is a way!"

Honing the Craft

Getting into the Halloween spirit?  I am...and here is a tag to prove it! Lovely witch by Vadis, matched with a wonderful scrap kit by Tiny Turtle Designs.  I like TTD's kits, so many elements are available and the colors are absolutely beautiful.

Still recovering from my trip back east. Pretty tired and trying to get my strength back by resting and taking it easy the past few days. What a better way to spend my time than creating tags! Sometimes I feel more like 96 than 66...lmao! Felt good enough to go into Catalina and do some food shopping this morning though, so I am getting better.  Hopefully, with hubby's help, will get to decorating the house for Halloween. It's getting closer!!!

Warm Wishes

The end of 2018 is fast approaching and I am sure everyone is prepared to usher in the new year in their own way.  I plan on having a mini-celebration at home, with crabcakes and cranberry punch...several other edibles and finally champagne to toast the new year. 

This was my first year as a retiree.  It hasn't been easy to adjust to not working.  I think the first two months of my retirement was more like a vacation...I kept thinking I had to go back into the office eventually.  Finally, by summer I was sleeping in later.😊 By the time of my trip to Virginia, I was more relaxed in this new phase of my life.

Oh I still complain now and then, doesn't everyone?  In the long run, I am grateful to be home, enjoying my garden, my art, reading one book after another and simply living a wonderful life.

We should all take some time to reflect before the big ball drops down, ringing in 2019  🎉

BOO!!!!!!

Beware the "witching hour"!! It's Halloween Night! Hope all the little goblins and ghouls have a safe trick or treat night.

Vadis is a new tube artist to my collection that does absolutely beautiful work and I will be purchasing more of her artistic endeavors. The scrap kit is rapidly becoming a favorite "go to kit" and I plan on using the more gothic elements long after the season of Halloween has passed.
