Peace on Earth

“I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!”
— Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Peppermint and Holly

Down  to only 13 more shopping days to Christmas! I am officially finished, but would have enjoyed wandering around today.  Lost my incentive after my doctor appointment...more blood tests in the near future and a return visit next month. I really don't understand why my blood pressure is still a problem, but hopefully these tests will get to the bottom of it.  Crosses fingers!

Celebrating my husband's birthday this weekend! I get to make the dinner as he doesn't want to go out.  It's hard to get everyone together for birthday celebrations, especially this time of year.  We are struggling with picking a date to have our annual before Christmas dinner right now.  It might have to be held early than planned.

Love Amy Brown's beautiful fairies...have a great collection of them. This one was part of a Christmas gift from CDO.  Unfortunately, Amy is no longer selling her tubes.  😞  I matched this fairy with a scrap kit I have had for a few years,  "Christmas of Old" by Freek's Creations. I don't think this kit is available for sale either.  😞

Cheers!! 🍷

Gorgeous fairy tube by Amy Brown.  Alas, her tubes are no longer available for purchase.  I am so glad I took advantage of gathering a few of her pieces before they were gone forever.  I used a wonderful scrap kit by Pink Paradox Productions. There are so many elements and papers to choose from in this kit which makes it perfect for spring and St Patty's Day creations.  I texturized the background for the canvas effect and used a mask by Dragonfly.  The frame was created by me, using Paint Shop Pro borders and effects.

This type of digital art reminds me of traditional artwork.  I love it!

PTU Scrapkit "Spring Fairy" by Hania's Design

A new painting using the amazing fairy artwork of Amy Brown.  I spent quite a bit of time with this picture, matching the background colors to the scrap kit. I am extremely pleased with the results. I have chosen this picture to be my first Valentine tag of 2018 😊.

Amy Brown has so many beautiful fairy prints, but she is no longer making them available for sale at Creative Design Outlet.  She has created new art prints I would love to use, especially the dragons. But....until she has another outlet to offer them, I must only use the tubes purchased through CDO. Crosses fingers she will decide to sell them on her own website!

Winter Solstice

PTU Scrap Kit "A Verymany Christmas" by Amy Marie

Winter Solstice 2017 occurred at 9:28AM on Thursday, December 21!  This is the shortest day of the year and the longest night.  The day has been celebrated by pagans for thousands of years and many traditions associated with Christmas have their roots in winter solstice celebrations...which includes our Christmas Tree!

Dating back centuries before Christ, cultures brought evergreen trees, plants, and leaves into their homes upon the arrival of the winter solstice. Although the specific practices were different in each country and culture, the symbolization was generally the same: to celebrate the return of life at the beginning of winter's decline.

The fairy used was created by Amy Brown and she is officially retiring from CDO on December 31, 2017. As I am not sure if she will be offering any of her tubes on her website for sale,  I purchased several of her amazing fairies. They will work perfectly into several of my designs for future pictures. I used elements/papers from Amy Marie's lovely scrap kit, "A Verymany Christmas".  The mask is free to use by Kissing Kate and can found found here

Have a very blessed Yule!
