Kiyohime

Finally home from a wonderful visit to Arlington, Virginia.  We spent most of the time visiting friends and family. We went to Fort Myer Army Base, stopping by to pay respects at Arlington National Cemetery. We also took a day trip to the quaint city of Luray, Virginia, which included a tour of the Shenandoah Valley. The rest of the time we wandered around Pentagon City, home of  course, to Crystal City Shopping Mall. Good news!!!! I finished all my Christmas shopping!! Yay me!!

I am totally exhausted, but happy to be home. I am not sure how I feel about possibly living in Virginia...maybe part time? I missed the warmth of Tucson's sun...it was rather chilly in Arlington. Right now the days are beautiful and sunny, high around 70 during the day, dipping into the low 50's in the evenings. It's the winter I am worried about. Snow and I don't get along. 😀

Harley Quinn

Another gothic tube by Enys Guerrero, Harley Quinn! I paired her with a scrap kit by Chaos Priestess called Sweet Nightmare.  I liked the look of the tag so much, I copied it onto a textured canvas.  Love the look!!

I am heading to Virginia for the next few days. Looking forward to the fall colors that make the state so beautiful this time of the year. We are planning a trip into the Blue Ridge mountain area which I enjoyed visiting several years ago, the farms, quaint towns...almost like stepping back a hundred years. Those mountains are one of the things I do love about Virginia, they are absolutely breathtaking!

I do not plan to visit our wackadoodle President and his cohorts in the Senate/House...I might get arrested for protesting...😮.  In all seriousness, I am hoping to find some time to visit the National Gallery of Art, the have a great exhibition on 14th century art...yeah, I am an avid art lover.  I am not sure if we will have time to go into DC, as my aunt has quite a bit planned in the few days we will be there. Busy...busy...busy...I might have to have a week to recuperate when I return home!

Wood Witch

Wood Witch

Ever heard of a Wood Witch? Well, if you watched Game of Thrones, you would have seen "Maggy" the wood's witch that lived near Casterly Rock and who read Cersei's fortune when she was a teen.  She foretold that Cersei would marry a king, not a prince and she would be queen until someone younger cast her down.  She also forewarned Cersei that she would have three children who would have golden hair and shrouds of gold. 

So what is a wood's witch? They are likely to be local or travelling herb-women who use traditional healing, and perhaps simple spells and charms to heal the sick or help the needy. They have also been known to have prophetic dreams. Their knowledge is apparently passed down from woman to woman and often set up their "shops" in the woods outside of villages. 

The woods witch was created in the imagination of George RR Martin. In the real witch world, a woods witch would be called a Forest Witch or perhaps a Hedge Witch...let's not get their ire up...they are very good at hexing!

Autumn Passions

Autumn Passions

Enjoyed creating this tag using the lovely new tube by Verymany, "Cozy Evening".  I paired her with the matching scrap kit, "Autumn Passions".  Love the rich autumn colors in this kit!

Busy week with a birthday coming up quick to celebrate, doctor visits and getting ready for a trip back to Arlington, Virginia.  Hoping for a break from all this running around, but I doubt it.  On top of everything, my daughter's truck decides to give her trouble.  Like that saying, "its always something".  Normally, I would give her my car to use until her truck is back on the road.  I guess we will have to work out how to get everywhere I have to be and her as well.  I think it's time to start looking for another vehicle for her.

Taking deep breaths...mutters under my breath and starts working on another tag to control the frustration building.
