Candee

Candee

So the much awaited Mueller Report was released.  The public has yet to see it.  I already anticipated it would amount to vindication for the current occupant of the White House, so I wasn't surprised to hear that his hand selected AG found nothing in the report of any note to substantiate collusion, conspiracy and obstruction.  Well alrighty then...I feel vindication too...I knew nothing would come of this whole investigation.  Everyone loves this guy, let's give him 4 more years! I am sure he will get there without my vote; Russia will intervene on his behalf once again.

The weather has been absolutely beautiful! I am loving the feel of the sun on my skin and plan to spend more time outdoors (away from the constant news stations).  I am almost through reading my book "Blood and Bone" and will start looking for more novels to add to my reading list.  That's one thing I do like about Amazon, I can look for books at my leisure and read excerpts while I am drinking a glass of wine.  🍷❤

Blue Streak

Blue Streak

Another creation using filters, blends and beautiful artwork of Barbara Jensen. I love how the subtle colors complement her tube.  It literally screams "spring"!!

The weather has been absolutely gorgeous the last few days of this week! I love it! Eliminates the need to take medication to just move around. (I know I'm old, but sheesh!) Anyway, it's encouraging as I do plan to take up my walks in a few weeks.

I finally got approval to see a nephrology specialist.  That took over a month! In the age of electronic records, why did this take so long? My medical records would be sent within hours...IF...staff knows how to use the medical software correctly. I worked with medical software.  Don't believe it would take a month unless someone wasn't doing their job.  My husband's aunt is right...total incompetence or willful neglect in following up on a request from one doctor to another.  (Steps off my soap box.)

I am slowly getting the urge to write again.  Not sure if I want to continue with a story that I didn't finish or start a new one.  Of course, thinking about it made me feel like putting it on the back burner again.  One day...I keep promising myself. 😐

Just saw in the news that Robert Mueller's report has been given to Attorney General Barr.  Oh well,  so the public has to wait again for whatever results were concluded.  I am of the belief that Trump is charmed to the point...nothing will happen. 😒

Time to grab a glass of wine and watch the news!

Stop Draggin My Heart Around

Long before there was Taylor Swift, there was Stevie Nicks. One of my favorite artists...still to this day.  I always rushed out to buy the latest album, record, tape, cd and whatever music form is played these days.  (I tend to listen to her music on iTunes now.)  I am dating myself, but seriously...I think she was the Taylor Swift of the 70's. One of my theme songs from when I was a youngster...ha! Enjoy!

Feeling Lucky

Feeling Lucky

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Cailleach

Cailleach
In Gaelic mythology, a "cailleach" is a "hag" or "old woman". In Ireland, she is the embodiment of the Dark Mother or Harvest Queen. She usually appears in late fall and brings in all the winter storms.  With all this cold weather lingering on, I believe the Cailleach is busy keeping her counterpart, Brighid, the Goddess of Summer..away for as long as she can.😐

Planning on an outing today with hubby, who has a dental appointment in Tucson.  We will go to my favorite place for an early dinner, Sullivans!!

Lately we have been talking vacation planning for 2019. However, now that he has decided to retire next March, we may just hold off taking a vacation until after the dust settles. I have been patiently waiting to travel since I retired almost 2 years ago. (WOW! Time flies by so quickly!) I have a bucket list of Ireland, France, Italy, Spain and Egypt.  I am also still holding out hope we will get to Hawaii one day, even if my legs might not be able to withstand all the walking. I could just lay on the beach and soak in the sun!! Actually, that appeals to me right now...a tropical drink and watching the waves crash on the shore.  🌴💓

Shadows

Shadows

Shadows are fragments of life, broken images which have been shattered against the wall of personal destiny and human will.

A heap of broken images, where the sun beats,
And the dead tree gives no shelter, the cricket no relief,
And the dry stone no sound of water. Only
There is shadow under this red rock,
(Come in under the shadow of this red rock),
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;
I will show you fear in a handful of dust.

Season of Lent

Sparkling Waves
It's March 10th, the first Sunday of the Season of Lent.  I was listening to our priest talk about what Lent means and how we should go about fulfilling our fast.  He spoke about the three pillars of Lent, prayer, fasting and giving. Giving up something for Lent is a form of fasting.  He encouraged us to  deprive ourselves of some small pleasure or indulgence and offer that "sacrifice" up to our Lord.

I remember as a child giving up a variety of candy, mostly chocolate, with a reward in mind...that on Easter Sunday I would get back all that candy in my basket.  Simple thinking of a child. What was really true, in our family, candy was a treat! It wasn't so easy back then, as it is today, to buy myself a candybar.  We were on a very tight budget...ok, so we were poor. Money for candy usually came from relatives...giving me, my brothers and sister, anywhere from a nickel to a quarter.

I must admit it has been a long time since I thought about giving up anything for any period of time. I need to settle on a choice, and of course, chocolate isn't one of them, being pre-diabetic.  I already limit my intake as it is. Nope, that just won't count as a sacrifice.

So back to my predicament...what do I give up? I have been thinking, rather than giving up an item of material value, maybe it should be something entirely the opposite. How about adding a new habit or routine that brings relative peace to my life?  Obviously, controlling myself for only 40 days doesn't quite make the grade...or why do it at all? I am going to try...I am sure I will have some lapses, but given time, the habit will become second nature. ❤

Magical Fairy

Magical Fairy

Spring always makes me look out for fairies! It must be all the butterflies, bees and hummingbirds that suddenly appear in my garden while I am working on planting and pruning my plants.  Of course, to me, a butterfly is a true fairy, with those beautiful colorful wings and graceful flight from one flower to another.  I enjoy watching hummingbirds as their little wings flutter so fast around my honeysuckle. However, I must confess, I am a little leery of those bees even though they also assist in pollination. (I believe they are truly imps! 😉). Totally out of respect, I give them a wide berth when they buzz around me.

The following paragraph is from Fablehaven Wiki:
"Fairies can appear as bumblebees, hummingbirds, butterflies or dragonflies to the mortal eye.  In their true form, fairies gleam more brilliantly than any flower, much like the sun outshines the moon. Fairies are master gardeners and have  knack for making vegetation bloom. They are highly territorial, nonmigratory creatures and make their home in a place where food, gardens and other enchanted creatures  are plentiful."
No wonder I love fairies!  Believe in magic!  Remember, those who don't believe in magic, will never find it.💓

Fairies and Dragons

I believe in everything until it's disproved.
So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons.
 It all exists.
Even if it's in your mind.
Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now?

Castle Dreams

Castle Dreams
Absolutely gorgeous tube by Zlata_m!  She literally effuses romance, castles, knights and fairytales.  I paired her with a wonderful kit by my most favorite scrap kit maker Pink Paradox Productions.  It's called "Fairy Dust Dreams"...appropriate don't you think?

So we are now in the month of March and lately the days are so nice and warm. Its just I can't wait for the warmer nights as well,  so I can start my garden.  The temperatures dip down into the low 30's, a bit too chilly to set out plants. I have so much pruning to do with all the dead vines, it will keep me busy for some time.

Actually the last few days I have been working on taxes.  I am still waiting on some forms, but I have enough to start.  I just dread the whole process of gathering the papers and entering all the information, only to wind up paying through the nose.  Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised by the Trump Tax Reform?  I sincerely doubt it.

Working on some new creations, highlighting St. Patrick's Day and Easter.  Those two holidays will be here before I blink twice.  My husband loves to go to Pistache for St. Patty's Day and I am sure he already has a reservation made.  I love the drinking part, more than the eating.  LOL! ☘
